Halloween Pumpkin

Well, yesterday (or rather last night) was D-day for the pumpkin we have been growing in the cave garden. Having a six year old little boy in the family does give you the chance to re live all those times as a child when you made the likes of a pumpkin lantern for Halloween. Back in the UK we used to use turnips and I remember well using a hand drill to hollow out the inside!

A cave house can be a spooky place on Halloween night - especially with tea lights dotted around, fake creepy crawlies stuck on the walls and all sorts of other decorations... A good night it was, and the pumpkin ended up in juniors bedroom to send him off to sleep!

Of course, we kept some pumpkin to make soup and this is whats up next.

Happy Halloween!
