Ortiz Tuna

Ortiz tuna  is probably one of the finest tuna's available. Famous throughout Spain Ortiz tuna is renound as a top class tapa. There are two types of tuna, the first and more popular is "atun claro" this is white tuna, the tenderloins are are packed in a jar and preserved in olive oil.

The second is "bonito del norte" a yellow fin tuna which is hand fished during the summer months. In each case Ortiz conforms to the current regulations for the size of fish that can be caught.

Both types of tuna are popular tapas and are served up with bread or toast. An exceptional salad can also be created for a classic summer lunch or side dish.

I had excellent tapas at La Bodega. We tried the gambas, brinjals and mushrooms..all three separate dishes. It came with bread.

Gambas al Pil Pil / gambas a la Plancha are fantastic tapas, we always make them whenever we can get some good big prawns. Bread is great for mopping up the chilli infused olive oil :-) Thanks for popping by the blog again!
